Perfect Peace

The Lord has been gently whispering to me about His Peace. I desperately need His Peace in my life. The last few days there have been Scriptures about Peace popping up from different sources like friends on facebook or something I just happen to be reading. It is quite obvious that The Lord is trying to tell me something. I  really do need His Peace and I seek it! I will pay attention to what He is saying and I will study what the Scriptures say about His Peace.

This morning I woke up with this Scripture on my mind. Then when I went to read my Bible, this verse was part of the Scripture Reading Plan for today. ( I am following a plan to read through the Bible in a year, which I am terribly behind on!) Do I think this is a coincidence?  Absolutely not!  God is working on my Heart and I am going to pay attention!

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Isaiah 26:3

I am sorry I have been absent from this blog. I miss being here and I miss you all! This Summer has been a bit busy, but I also have had a hard time just sitting down to write. I really do hope to be here more often. It is like therapy for me to write here. Thank You to the Faithful few that still read this. I hope to be back real soon!

Update on the Pregnancy Prayer List And More About Isaiah 26:3-4

I would like to congratulate Hannah on the birth of her new son, Brennan McCartney. Brennan was Born February 1, 2010, weighing 9 pounds and measuring 22 inches long. The report is that mother and baby are doing well!

Hannah is the sister to my new daughter-in-law, Naomi. She traveled by car, from Wisconsin to Kentucky with her husband and young son to the wedding at 36 weeks pregnant! She was the matron of honor. There was also another pregnant lady in the wedding . Bethany, a good friend of Naomi, is just a few weeks behind Hannah. It was quite sweet seeing them walk down the aisle!

Congratulations Hannah, Tyler, and big brother Will!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I would like to thank those of you who responded to my last post. I enjoyed reading each of your thoughts on Isaiah 26:3-4.  I also had a few responses from friends on facebook.
What I believe God is saying to me is I need to keep my mind stayed on Him in everything! Even in the mundane things in life. You know when we surrender our lives over to God we are to surrender every part of our lives. That means Everything!
When we watch TV, read a book, visit with friends, shop,care for our families, etc, we are to keep our focus on the Lord. Is that TV show something God would have you watch? Is that book something that is honoring to Him? Do you keep your talk wholesome when you are talking with friends? When you shop are you spending your money wisely, and being a good steward of what God has given you? When caring for your family, are you doing it with the Love of God in your heart and and doing it with a loving attitude and a servant's heart.
Let me be the first to say, No I do not always do these things this way. It is a constant battle of my will versus God's will . I get tired. I lose my focus. I get busy in the things of life that I forget to add God into the equation. That is when I start to find my home becoming chaotic and I am fretting about something. This is when I get completely discouraged and fall flat on my face. I need Him in my everyday life! I am nothing without Him and I need to feel His Peace in my Life!
As we learn to keep our minds on Him we will find Peace. As we strive to be in His will, we will find Peace. As we trust in Him, we will find Peace.
Through a conversation on Facebook ,the one thing that stood out to me was something someone said. It was finding Peace through Trust. Think about it, we will find Peace as we Trust in Him!
I do not know about you, but I certainly want to have His my Peace in my life!
Verse 4 goes on to say To trust in the Lord Forever, for He is our Everlasting Strength. So that means trusting Him = Strength! I very much want and need His Everlasting Strength.  How about you?
I'm Still Around And Randomness
Well, it has been a week since my last post.
I am working on making my life more organized a little bit at a time. I really need to be on a better schedule, but this is very hard for me. I am a person that would prefer to just "go with the flow!" This does not work well with all that needs to be accomplished and things do not usually "flow" well around here when I am in that mode.
Isaiah 26:3-4 has really ministered to me this week. I really need God's Peace right now. I need peace in my home and in my heart and mind.
Isaiah 26:3-4 (King James Version)
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.
I am working on keeping my mind stayed on my Lord. I cannot do this in my own strength. I continually ask Him to help me with keeping my mind stayed on Him.
There was something that happened this week that I was not having my mind on the Lord at that time. Suddenly the Lord brought it to my attention that I was trying to take care of things in my own strength. I said Thank You Lord for reminding me and I asked for his guidance in the situation. Things soon got better. I need to remember to invite Him into every detail of my life!
Other happenings:
I took my son Matthew to the doctor yesterday. He has not been feeling well for about 2 weeks. It started with something that was like the flu. It seemed like he was starting to get better, but suddenly his fever came back and his cough got a lot worse. It ended up that he has pneumonia. They gave him 2 shots of some kind of antibiotic and also gave him a prescription for home. Today he seems to be doing some better. Please pray that it doesn't spread to anyone else!
On labor day we took the children to Chick-fil-A for dinner. They were giving away a free chicken sandwich to everyone that day. I also had several coupons for free kids meals. We only had to buy drinks for those of us who didn't get a kids meal and we bought fries to share. This meal was very inexpensive for our family.
My daughter Rebekah started working at Chick-fil-A a few weeks ago. She really likes it there and so far it has been a good experience. The atmosphere there really seems pleasant. It is also refreshing that they play Christian music. My 2 older boys have worked at other fast food restaurants and the environment has not been quite as pleasant. I pray that it continues to go well for Rebekah and that it will be a positive experience.
That is about it for now! I am off to prepare for our Wednesday night activities. We always have to eat dinner early on Wednesdays so that we can get to Church on time. We have a 45 minute drive to get to Church.
Blessings,
